Track Name: Broken Hearts
Out there

in a place we know as somewhere

came a girl I know with long hair

She'd always hang around at night

One day

she was walking down the skyway

She said "This thing ain't goin' my way"

She said "This thing ain't goin' right"

But she's not here to play nobody's part

She's got no time for broken hearts

No lie

There's fire burning in her blue eyes

She keeps you guessing with that hair dye

She keeps you running far behind

No chance

Don't even bother with your last dance

She caught you staring at the first glance

and you're not gonna change her mind

She's not here to play nobody's part

She's got no time for broken hearts

How strange

This girl is bent on hair and scene change

She left her coat back on the last plane

but she's not worried that it's gone

Quick stop

for rum and coke just like a mop top

Maybe let the other shoe drop,

maybe see what's going on

She's not here to play nobody's part

She's got no time for broken hearts
Track Name: Letters
Restless winds push so hard on this part of town

Life ain't hard, but work ain't free

Artists on display live so casually underground

College town ain't no place for refugees

We're digging graves for our dreams and destinies

Tombstones or no, they rest in peace

Letters we don't care to write go to those we don't care to see

as you sign your soul away to the lease

But if I could just get away from here

If I could just get away from here

If I could just get away from here with you

People sit there in their five seat concert halls
For all they know the music never played

Invitations hang all up and down these walls,

still I feel my welcome's overstayed

But if I could just get away from here

If I could just get away from here

If I could just get away from here with you

Because I don't like it anymore,

maybe never did before

I don't like it any more than you

And if I could just get away again

I would just run away my friend

If I could just run away again with you

What more could we do?
Track Name: Don't Play With Me
Hear you holler across the floor

soon as you walked in the door

We all know how this will end

I ain't here to be your friend

Don't you play with me

You go looking to pick a fight

Don't need you to waste the night

Save your breath if you've got something to say

I don't need your time of day

Don't you play with me

They're staring daggers down the bar

Someday you might push too far

You enjoy your little game

There's a barking iron that's got your name

Don't you play with me
Track Name: Along For The Ride
So you figured your life out, honey

and everything's going your way

But you're only seeing through your eyes, honey

and I hope that they open some day

So stick to your plan if you think that you can

but don't be so surprised if you fall

'Cause life turns on a dime in a matter of time

and there's something in store for us all

So I won't beg you to stay; I won't turn you away

because life walks with nobody's stride;
I'm just along for the ride

Every day there's a choice to be made

sure as someone is rolling the dice

You can make it if you want to, honey

but the answer won't be so precise

There's more to this life than the black and the white

I'm drowning in shades of gray

and that second guess will leave you a mess

if you're not sure that you know the way

So if you get turned around, don't try to be found

'cause you'll only be fighting the tide;
just go along for the ride

I've been holding my breath for a long time, honey

since breathing became so hard

The air went thin when the walls moved in

so I stepped outside to the yard

The world is full of these foolish thoughts

thinking life's gonna follow this line

and my foolish glass went empty, honey

so let's find us a bottle of wine

It'll last us the night, if we keep out of sight

'cause it just might be worth it to hide,
and go along for the ride
Track Name: Only Made A Bad Thing Worse
The nights are longer

The noise is stronger

And now you're finding

the lights are blinding

And no one's saving

the peace you're craving

There's no sense trying

but you're still lying

Til the laughter turns to anger and it hangs there like a curse

and it only makes a bad thing worse

And soon they're shouting

It leaves you doubting

These unknown faces

in your favorite places

Where the good times are remembered if you only get there first

and it only makes a bad thing worse

And now they're ending

what you're defending

Your faith was shaken

Your words were taken

By some silly little hotshot who went and stole your final verse

and it only made a bad thing worse

And the room's forever changing til they lead you to your hearse
and it only makes a bad thing worse
Track Name: Hey Maggie
Hey Maggie, whatcha doing tonight? Why you staying inside?
Hey Maggie, whatcha doing tonight? Why not go for a ride?
It’s just I’ve seen how much you’ve been doing for me,
I think it’s high time I swallowed my pride
So hey Maggie, why not go for a ride?

Hey Maggie, whatcha doing today? Got time to sit down and talk?
Hey Maggie, whatcha doing today? Maybe go for a walk?
Although I don’t suppose you really want me to go,
I know this all might just come as a shock
So hey Maggie, why not go for a walk?

Hey Maggie, it’s a Saturday night, watching movies at home
Hey Maggie, it’s a Saturday night, I call you up on the phone
Now the kids have all grown up so fast,
but you know they’ll never leave you alone
So hey Maggie, I call you up on the phone

Hey Maggie, please don’t leave me tonight, while I’m singing my song
Hey Maggie, please don’t leave me tonight, if this is taking to long
I know it’s getting late, but the world can wait
till I know that I’ve done nothing wrong
So hey Maggie, please don’t leave me for long
Yeah, hey Maggie, please don’t leave me for long
Track Name: She Ain't Talking
Getting words from her's like squeezing blood from a stone

I hurl myself against the door but there's no one home

She ain't talking about what's on her mind

She ain't talking; I fear I'm being left behind

I must have screwed up somewhere, but how could I know

If she don't open up the floodgates and let that information flow

She ain't talking about what's on her mind

She ain't talking; I fear I'm being left behind

I need a chance to rectify this mess that I've made

Because the air between us is ten below and cooler in the shade

She ain't talking about what's on her mind

She ain't talking; I fear I'm being left behind

She ain't talking about what's on her mind

She ain't talking; I know I'm running out of time
Track Name: Dull Razors
I’ve been shaving with dull razors,
these little cuts are bleeding down my face
I’ve been asking these small favors,
but it’s just not worth the trouble to plead my case

I got asked to a revolution like you’d ask someone to dance
The world may fall apart but if it does it’s not
because of some unhappy chance

I’ve shaving with dull razors,
I cut my hair but it keeps growing back
I’ve been smoking the stale filters,
but I think my father might have
finished off the pack

The world’s gone mad they say and they’re not gonna take it anymore
So do we pretend it’s never been this way before?

Cause I don’t know, I don’t know when it stops
I don’t know, I don’t know when it stops

I’ve been hearing the dull strangers,
choosing sides and out to make their stand
And I’ve been fearing the small dangers,
who’s really gonna hurt when this all gets out of hand?

Well everybody’s got their fight to fight it’s never been another way
I won’t ask for help with mine if you don’t tell me what I’d ought to say

Cause I don’t know, I don’t know when it stops,
I don’t know, I don’t know when it stops
Track Name: Quiet On The Shoreline
Fisherman is sleeping right through the pull on the line

Lighthouse starts turning;
into the dark she'll proudly shine

And somewhere in the far-off distance,
a ship is sailing into the unknown

and while its sailors softly sleep,
the captain is standing there alone

The wind is dying;
trees are holding steady for awhile

The stars keep shining
through the sails; the captain smiles

As the waves have seen him through the day,
his whiskey will last him for the night

And it's wild on his open waters,
though it's quiet on the shoreline tonight.

Further down the beaches,
the moonlight lays upon the sand

and she finds familiar places
of time spent walking hand in hand

and as the light is disappearing,
memories of him are lost at sea

Yes, they're buried 'neath the silent waters,
frightened at the thought of what could be

And it seems so long since those
endless evenings of champagne,

of summers on the ocean,
midnight dancing in the rain

But she's left that all behind her;
she talks of moving on and she just might

but she knows that ship ain't sailing if it's
quiet on the shoreline tonight

Captain keeps searching for the pieces of your broken heart

Lady, don't let the world tear your love apart

for he'll drown her in forgiveness
and she'll fall into his arms without a fight

and the stars alone will hear their pleading though it's
quiet on the shoreline tonight

Yes it's wild on their open waters,
though it's quiet on the shoreline tonight
Track Name: Music In Your Soul
Well I once met this painter whose colors came from the sky

and I often wondered how he got way up there,
though I never asked him why

It was something that I just couldn't understand;
always seemed so surreal

and he'd say, "The picture is more than what you see;
yeah, a painter has to feel"

He said there's nowhere to hide where the years won't take their toll

so keep the colors in your heart and the music in your soul

Well I once met this dancer whose heart was too young to sin

She could move just like the water ran
when she danced upon the wind
Though I don't know if I ever figured out a thing
in the time I hung around

She'd say that you can fly across this whole world
with your two feet on the ground

She said there's nowhere to hide where the years won't take their toll

so keep the rhythm in your step and the music in your soul

Well I once met this thinker; was a man of many words

He could tell you of everything that he had ever read,
along with everything he'd heard

As knowledge was his virtue,
his stories were his past

and he'd say, "If life is just a story with an end,
who would want to move so fast?"

He said there's nowhere to hide where the years won't take their toll

so keep the stories in your mind and the music in your soul

Oh there's nowhere to hide where the years won't take their toll

so keep the wonder in your eyes and the music in your soul
